Fiberglass & Themed Sculpture

Custom Giant Whale Sculpture for Aquariums, Theme Parks and Commercial Spaces

Custom giant whale sculptures made from high-density foam, fiberglass and reinforced structures for aquariums, theme parks, museums, resorts and commercial spaces.
This giant whale sculpture was created from high-density foam as part of a large-scale custom production process. Its realistic body proportions, extended fins and dynamic swimming posture make it ideal for aquariums, theme parks, ocean museums, shopping malls, hotels and marine-themed attractions. From Concept Design to 3D Modeling

Every custom whale sculpture begins with the client’s concept, reference images, architectural drawings or 3D files. If the customer only has an initial idea, we can assist with the design and develop a suitable size, pose and artistic style.

Before production, several important details must be confirmed:

  • Overall length, width and height

  • Realistic, artistic or cartoon style

  • Indoor or outdoor installation

  • Ground-mounted, wall-mounted or ceiling-suspended display

  • Viewing distance and installation height

  • Surface color and texture

  • Internal supporting structure

  • Transportation and site access

  • Installation and connection requirements

The whale’s body and fins must remain visually balanced from different viewing angles, especially when the sculpture will be suspended above visitors.

High-Density Foam Carving

High-density EPS foam is a practical material for creating very large sculpture forms. It is relatively lightweight, easy to shape and suitable for both CNC cutting and manual carving.

During production, large foam blocks are cut into separate sections according to the approved design. CNC equipment establishes the main proportions, after which experienced sculptors refine the body by hand.

Manual carving is used to shape important details such as:

  • The whale’s head and mouth

  • Eyes and facial contours

  • Throat grooves

  • Pectoral fins

  • Tail and body transitions

  • Natural skin contours

  • Muscle and movement details

Although CNC technology improves efficiency, hand sculpting remains essential for achieving natural anatomy and an artistic appearance.

Lightweight Construction for Monumental Sculptures

One of the greatest advantages of foam construction is its low weight. A whale sculpture of this size would be extremely heavy if made entirely from concrete, stone or solid metal.

A high-density foam core makes it possible to create a monumental sculpture while reducing transportation and installation difficulty. Depending on the project requirements, the foam sculpture can be used as a temporary display, a reinforced finished sculpture or a master model for fiberglass production.

For long-term commercial use, we normally recommend a reinforced fiberglass or composite surface system. The final material solution should be selected according to the installation environment, expected service life and project budget.

Fiberglass Reinforcement and Surface Finishing

For permanent indoor or outdoor display, the carved whale can be reinforced with fiberglass, resin-compatible materials or protective fiber layers. This creates a harder outer shell while retaining the lightweight internal form.

After reinforcement, the surface is refined, sanded and prepared for painting. The final finish can be customized to achieve different visual effects:

  • Realistic humpback whale coloring

  • Blue whale or orca-inspired finishes

  • Smooth white contemporary art finish

  • Metallic or pearlescent coating

  • Cartoon-style bright colors

  • Hand-painted realistic skin texture

  • Ocean-inspired gradient colors

  • Weather-resistant outdoor coating

For outdoor projects, waterproof sealing, UV-resistant paint, drainage, wind resistance and secure anchoring must also be considered.

Internal Structure and Installation

Large whale sculptures often require internal steel reinforcement, particularly around the fins, tail, main body connections and lifting points.

The structural design depends on how the sculpture will be installed. A giant whale can be:

  • Suspended from a ceiling

  • Mounted on a wall

  • Supported by a concealed base

  • Installed above artificial waves

  • Combined with rockwork and marine scenery

  • Integrated into a large themed environment

For suspended installations, the building’s load-bearing structure and hanging system must be reviewed by qualified project engineers based on the final weight and installation conditions.

Sectional Production and International Shipping

A giant whale sculpture is usually too large to be transported as one complete piece. To make international shipping and site installation more practical, the body, fins and tail can be divided into several sections.

The sections are produced and test-assembled in the factory before shipment. Connection points are carefully planned so they can be repaired and concealed after installation.

Sectional production provides several benefits:

  • Easier workshop handling

  • More efficient container loading

  • Lower transportation difficulty

  • Easier access to indoor installation areas

  • Faster on-site assembly

  • Convenient future maintenance

Numbered components, connection details and installation guidance can be provided for overseas projects.

Applications of Large Whale Sculptures

Custom whale sculptures are suitable for many commercial, educational and entertainment environments, including:

  • Aquariums and oceanariums

  • Theme parks and water parks

  • Marine museums

  • Science and education centers

  • Shopping mall atriums

  • Hotels and seaside resorts

  • Restaurants and entertainment venues

  • Public art installations

  • Film and television sets

  • Exhibitions and brand events

  • Children’s activity centers

  • Coastal landscape projects

The whale can also be combined with dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, coral reefs, artificial waves, lighting, sound and mechanical effects to create a complete ocean-themed attraction.

More Than a Realistic Whale Model

In addition to realistic whale sculptures, we can create artistic, abstract, cartoon or original IP-style marine animals.

Available custom marine sculptures include:

  • Humpback whales

  • Blue whales

  • Sperm whales

  • Orcas

  • Dolphins

  • Sharks

  • Sea turtles

  • Octopuses

  • Rays

  • Fantasy sea creatures

The sculpture can be produced from foam, fiberglass, resin, metal or mixed materials. Lighting, sound and movement systems can also be incorporated when required.
