Decide What Visitors Will Experience

Will visitors only view the model, or will they be allowed to touch it or enter a cockpit area? Is the installation indoors or outdoors? Does it need lighting?

Match Materials to the Design

Fiberglass, metal and mixed-material construction can be evaluated according to the scale, surface finish and installation conditions. A painted aircraft display and a mirror-polished metal aircraft sculpture have different fabrication requirements.

Plan Delivery Before Fabrication

A model that fits the exhibition space may still be too large for its entrance. Doorways, loading access, transport dimensions and available lifting equipment should be reviewed early.

Where necessary, wings, body sections or supports can be designed for separate transportation and on-site assembly. Joint positions should be coordinated with the model’s appearance and confirmed before production.
